The International Rights of Nature Tribunal will close its 6th international hearing on November 11, 2025, in Belém, Brazil, during the People’s Summit at COP30. This landmark session, titled “A New Pledge for Mother Nature,” will consolidate findings from previous hearings in New York and Toronto and present a comprehensive proposal for global environmental governance.

The program will be structured around six key pillars:

1. Amplifying defenders’ voices from communities on the frontlines.

2. International reflections from initiatives like the Pacto Ecosocial e Intercultural del Sur, the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, and the Global Tapestry of Alternatives.

3. Protecting defenders through the Tribunal’s Policy on the Rights of Mother Earth’s Defenders.

4. Just transition beyond fossil fuels and mining, holding corporations and governments accountable.

5. Rights of Nature as a systemic solution, celebrating victories worldwide.

6. A New Pledge for Mother Nature, urging decisive action from the United Nations and the international community.
