Activista ambiental, cofundador y dirigente de la organización de base DECOIN, Defensa y Conservación Ecológica de Intag, la cual ha liderado la resistencia en contra de la minería transnacional en la zona de Intag, Imbabura desde 1995. Por su activismo en contra de la minería, ha sido perseguido por empresas mineras y el gobierno del Ecuador. Aparte de defender Intag de la minería, es agricultor y caficultor, y cofundador de la Asociación de Caficultores Río Intag, entre otras organizaciones. Es residente de la zona de Intag desde 1978.

Environmental activist, co-founder and leader of the grassroots organization DECOIN, Defense and Ecological Conservation of Intag, which has led the resistance against transnational mining in the Intag area, Imbabura since 1995. For his activism against mining, he has been persecuted by mining companies and the government of Ecuador. Apart from defending Intag from mining, he is a farmer and coffee grower, and co-founder of the Río Intag Coffee Growers Association, among other organizations. He has been a resident of the Intag area since 1978.
