Father Raúl Vera is a renowned Mexican priest and social activist known for his work in defense of human rights and his fight against poverty and discrimination. He was born on June 21, 1945 in Acámbaro, Guanajuato, Mexico, and after being ordained a priest he became involved in the fight for human rights and social justice in the country. He was named auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of San Cristóbal de las Casas, in Chiapas, Mexico, where he became a strong defender of the rights of indigenous peoples and worked tirelessly to improve their living conditions. He has also fought for gender equality, the rights of the LGBT community, the right to abortion, and the legalization of marijuana, among other issues.

El Padre Raúl Vera es un reconocido sacerdote y activista social mexicano conocido por su labor en defensa de los derechos humanos y su lucha contra la pobreza y la discriminación. Nació el 21 de junio de 1945 en Acámbaro, Guanajuato, México, y tras ser ordenado sacerdote se involucró en la lucha por los derechos humanos y la justicia social en el país. Fue nombrado obispo auxiliar de la Diócesis de San Cristóbal de las Casas, en Chiapas, México, donde se convirtió en un firme defensor de los derechos de los pueblos indígenas y trabajó incansablemente para mejorar sus condiciones de vida. También ha luchado por la igualdad de género, los derechos de la comunidad LGBT, el derecho al aborto y la legalización de la marihuana, entre otros temas.
