Mario Melo (Ecuador), lawyer and Ecuadorian university professor. For two decades he has been working in the defense and promotion of the rights of the Amazonian indigenous peoples. He has been a lawyer of the Kichwa People of Sarayaku before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and currently represents victims before the Universal System and the Inter-American Human Rights System. Author of several international publications on the Rights of Nature. He currently directs the Center for Human Rights of the Catholic University of Ecuador, and is a graduate professor at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar.
