International Rights of Nature Tribunal

New dates for the European Tribunal (online series)

The Europe Tribunal (online series) will take place the last Saturday of every months, starting January 2021 until May 2021.

In view of the sanitary situation due to the COVID 19 pandemic, and the deferral of the IUCN Congress, GARN’S European Hub and the International Rights of Nature Tribunal will hold the European Rights of Nature Tribunal as a virtual event, as it was originally an in-person event to be held in January 2021.

This decision was made in order to be consequent with the times and health measures needed to be considered for the wellbeing of those involved. GARN’S European Hub and the International Rights of Nature Tribunal are prioritizing the attendants’ health and integrity, and will now apply a new modality for the Tribunal to take place during the last Saturday of every month, via Zoom and Facebook live, from January 2021 until May 2021.

The proposed dates are the following for the 5 cases for 2021:

January 30th – Mer de Glace
February 27th – French Guiana
March 27th – Vättern
April 24th – Balkan rivers
May 29th – Marseille
